The Person Behind the Mortgage

What do you do, and who do you help?
I’m a mortgage lender, but more than anything, I’m here to help people make confident decisions about their homes and finances. Every client’s situation is different, so I take the time to understand where they are, where they want to go, and what financing options make the most sense for them. I work with first-time buyers, experienced homeowners, people looking to refinance, and clients who may have more complicated financial situations. I believe a great mortgage lender should do more than run numbers—they should communicate clearly, explain your options, and be someone you can trust throughout the process.
What advice do you have for future homeowners?
Start the conversation before you think you’re ready. You don’t have to have everything figured out before talking to a lender. Understanding your finances, your options, and what you can realistically afford can help you create a plan instead of feeling overwhelmed. For younger generations especially, I’d say don’t assume homeownership is out of reach. Learn the numbers, ask questions, and take the first step toward understanding what’s possible for you.
What’s your story beyond the mortgage business?
I’m a lot more than just the person on the other side of the mortgage paperwork. I’m a mom, I have a deep love for family and community, and I’ve always enjoyed building things and creating something meaningful. My farm has become a big part of that. There’s something incredibly rewarding about working with your hands, caring for animals, and watching an idea grow into something real. Balancing motherhood, a career, and the farm isn’t always easy, but I’ve learned that life doesn’t have to fit into just one box.
How do you turn different passions into a bigger vision?
I actually think the different parts of my life complement each other more than people might realize. Mortgage lending requires strategy, problem-solving, patience, and attention to detail, while the farm requires many of those same things—just in a very different setting. I love being able to move between those worlds. I think we sometimes convince ourselves that we have to choose one path, but you can build a life that makes room for multiple passions. If there’s something you’ve always wanted to pursue, my advice is to start somewhere. You don’t have to have the entire plan figured out before you take the first step.
